Welcome to Frisco

The booming town with big-city amenities and small-town feel

Located 30 miles north of Dallas, Frisco is one of the fastest-growing areas in Texas. With a great school system and booming job market, it’s a paradise for young families and residents with new money. Frisco also offers incredible weather, with an average of 230 clear days each year.

Residents take full advantage of good weather days in Frisco’s abundant green space, which includes a total of 49 parks. Large community parks and natural areas abound, as well as smaller neighborhood parks and inclusive, all-ability playgrounds.

Frisco began as an agricultural town but experienced a population boom in the late 1900s thanks to its proximity to the city and visionary leadership intent on creating a community with a high quality of life. Much of Frisco’s architecture points back to the styles of the early 20th Century. Even in the luxurious new constructions, there are many Craftsman, Victorian, and folk traditional styles.

What to Love

Local Lifestyle

Residents have always focused on quality of life, and while it has grown at a rapid pace, the community continues to pair big city amenities with a small-town feel. This is a town full of friendly neighbors, family-friendly spaces, and highly-rated schools. Since it’s close to the Dallas-Fort Worth Metro Area, it’s easy to commute for those who work in the city. Yet, Frisco itself has a thriving economy and many who live here don’t have to travel far for their jobs.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

Frisco has been a destination for shoppers and diners since there were hitching posts instead of parking spots, and it continues to deliver high-quality experiences and local flair. Nestled along Main Street, Frisco Square and The Rail District are home to many beloved spots such as the Bittersweet Ivy, wood-fired espresso at Summer Moon Coffee, and the upscale nerd experience at Nerdvana Frisco.

Stonebriar Centre is another popular shopping spot. The mall is full of department stores and high-end shops, including Pottery Barn, Coach, Nordstrom, and Williams-Sonoma. Stop for lunch or dinner between stores at popular spots like The Cheesecake Factory or Perry’s Steakhouse & Grille

The ease of large shopping centers is enviable, but some of Frisco’s best spots are hidden away and well worth seeking out. J. Theodore is an excellent choice for any meal, with an in-house bakery, delicious brunch items, and fresh local fare for dinner. However, if you look for the payphone in the back and punch in the secret code, the bookcase nearby has been known to admit revelers to a speakeasy known as Rare Books Bar.

Things to Do

One of the best parts of Frisco is its many parks, such as Frisco Commons, which has a 2.3- mile walking trail, a fishing pond, an amphitheater, and an extensive playground system. No matter what kind of outdoor activity you’re looking for, there is a green space in Frisco to accommodate you.

Plantation Golf Club has an excellent championship course that is open to the public. Enjoy gourmet food trucks, live music, beer gardens, and tons of kid-friendly activities at Frisco StrEATS, the longest-running food truck festival in North Texas.

Frisco is home to The Star, the headquarters for the Dallas Cowboys. The Ford Center in The Star is an indoor stadium that serves as the team’s practice facility, but it also hosts community events like outdoor movie nights, concerts, and boxing matches. Football isn’t the only sport that Frisco residents love; Toyota Stadium is home to FC Dallas soccer club, and the Frisco RoughRiders play at Riders Field.

Schools

Frisco Independent School District is one of the highest-ranking in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and one of the top school districts in Texas.
