Dining, Entertainment & Shopping
Highland Park is a paradise of upscale shopping and dining. While the majority is conveniently located in Highland Park Village and Snyder Plaza, there are a few incredible restaurants to be found on the outskirts. Javier’s Gourmet Mexicano serves authentic Mexico City fare, and they have an intimate lounge and cigar bar. Chelsea Corner has one of the best happy hours in Dallas, and this cozy neighborhood bar also has one of the only year-round patios.
Highland Park Village is America’s oldest shopping center and one of the finest, with its beautiful Mediterannean style and luxury brands like Hermés and Dior. It’s also the perfect place for dinner after an afternoon of shopping. Tucked away in the corner and serving upscale American fare with exquisite cocktails is The Honor Bar. If you’re looking for something to take with you, Bird Bakery serves delicious made-from-scratch confections every day. While you’re here, catch a film at the historic Highland Park Village Theatre and enjoy a complimentary valet and a full bar.
In contrast to the big brands and expansive feel of HP Village, Snyder Plaza is a charming change of pace. Sporting a slower-paced village feel, this shopping center is full of local boutiques like Hip Hip Hooray! and Cotton Island.
Things to Do
Not to be outdone by the commercial districts, the city of Highland Park maintains incredible green spaces and hosts fantastic family-friendly events throughout the year.
In the heart of Highland Park sits the exclusive, members-only Dallas Country Club, the playground for Dallas high society. It’s highly sought after and has a long waiting list, but it’s one of the most elite clubs in the country. There are also incredible parks and spaces accessible to the public. Lakeside Park is 14 acres of the manicured garden along Turtle Creek; its charm includes whimsical teddy bear statues and a scenic bridge.
