Welcome to Plano

A blossoming city that offers the best of both worlds

A safe, quiet suburb, Plano is a sought-after area for family living. However, it also has a significant appeal to younger residents as well. There was a time when things closed early, and residents would have to travel to Dallas for big-city amenities, but the opening of Legacy East and West have breathed a hip, urban feel into the area.

Historic Downtown Plano is another beautiful location that serves as a hub for the residential areas, bringing culture, shopping, and dining to the heart of the area. Plano is the perfect location for residents who love getting outdoors, thanks to the city’s miles of bike trails, extensive green space, and many walkable neighborhoods.

Plano has deep roots in farming and livestock, but when high-technology firms began to influence the local economy in the late 1900s, the city shifted its focus and welcomed the change with open arms. This pivot skyrocketed Plano’s growth and cemented it as a valuable neighbor to Dallas and a fruitful city in its own right.

What to Love

Local Lifestyle

Plano is an incredibly livable city for everyone, from retirees to young families and professionals. It has excellent nightlife, an incredible dining scene, and is the corporate headquarters of many large companies, such as J.C. Penny and Toyota. However, if you work in Dallas, the commute is relatively easy. Plano is bursting with activity, and there is always something to do.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

With bustling commercial spaces like Legacy East and West, Plano has become a shopping paradise, but the city’s true heart continues to beat in Historic Downtown Plano. This unique downtown area is full of local businesses like Holman Pottery and quality boutiques like Shinola. It’s also home to Georgia’s Farmers’ Market, a purveyor of local goods that’s open seven days a week.

Legacy West boasts luxury brands like Louis Vuitton and Gucci, while Legacy East is full of high-end boutiques like Ella Bleu and The Impeccable Pig. Legacy East and West also have an array of incredible dining experiences. Toulouse Cafe and Bar is a French restaurant at Legacy West where diners find classic dishes served in a friendly atmosphere. Haywire is a three-story restaurant with a whiskey bar on the first floor, a second-floor dining room, and a rooftop patio. Legacy Food Hall houses 20 local food artisans in one space. Dining options include delicacies like shawarma, Belgium waffles, and gourmet marshmallows. If you’re looking for a more rowdy dining experience, Scruffy Duffies at Legacy East is a classic pub feeling with live music, sports, and drool-worthy appetizers.
