Welcome to Prosper

A booming suburban town steeped in local charm

Deemed the “New Frisco,” Prosper is a family-friendly, suburban town North of Dallas. It’s grown significantly in the past few years and is a thriving community that has also managed to maintain its small-town charm as it reaches new heights.

For many years, Prosper was just a farm town stop on the railroad between Dallas and Sherman and was named Prosper after a year of good crops. But throughout the years, it has grown in more than just agriculture and is now home to a booming economy.

Many homes have charm and history, but the high growth rate of the area has also brought in many larger new constructions. Prosper also has a handful of incredible master-planned communities with resort-style amenities and beautiful single-family homes.

What to Love

  • Tight-knit community
  • Blossoming economy

Local Lifestyle

Prosper is an affluent suburb full of small-town charm. It has a highly-rated school system and a calendar of kid-friendly community events, making it one of the best Dallas suburbs to raise a family in. The master-planned communities like Windsong Ranch and Star Trail have incredible amenities and bring more luxurious big-city living to this peaceful town.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

There was a time when Prosper residents would have to drive upwards of 30 minutes to find the stores they needed or an abundance of dining options. But as the town has boomed, the possibilities have flooded in. Now a shopping center is only five minutes away, and the area is full of delicious food and drink.

Gates of Prosper is full of big-box stores like Hobby Lobby and Dick’s Sporting Goods. It’s convenient and a great one-stop shop for Prosper residents. For smaller shopping, visit Black Willow Boutique, which has trendy women’s fashions and beautiful gifts.

Silo Park is a fun food truck park with a rotating list of vendors, live entertainment, and a kids’ area. Try the vast array of craft beers available at Brass Tap Beer Bar, or caffeinate with the delicious espresso and local breakfast items at Honeylu’s Coffee Shop. The Gin is one of the most popular spots in Prosper. It has live music on the weekends, homestyle menu items, and genuine Southern hospitality.

Things to Do

Prosper’s dedication to maintaining a small-town feel as it continues to grow shows up strong in its community events and the parks it has built. There is always something to do or a beautiful space to hang out here.

The Prosper Chamber of Commerce hosts a full calendar of events throughout the year, such as a fishing derby and a Christmas Festival. Prosper Magazine also hosts several favorite community events. Every July, Summerfest brings live music, food trucks, and kid-friendly activities to Frontier Park. The magazine also hosts Pride in the Sky, an Independence Day celebration complete with live music and fireworks.

Frontier Community Park is one of the main outdoor gathering places in Prosper. It has soccer and baseball fields, batting cages, walking trails, and a splash pad. Cedar Grove Park has some of the best nature trails in town, and Town Lake Park has a fully stocked fishing pond that allows kayaking and canoeing.
